It was a battle between Frank the evil horse and Sarah the brave girl. Frank had kidnapped Sleepy the monkey and it is now a hostage. Sarah was in the midst of a fight with the evil Frank who wanted to dominate everyone in the world.
The final battle takes them to the bridge just outside the village.
“You can’t win this you naughty horse!” the girl shouted.
“I have your friend the monkey with me and I will keep it here if you do not let me win this!”
“I will fight you all the way. It’s not nice being naughty... you’ll have no friends!” Sarah reasoned with Frank.
Let me interrupt and explain... I had the role of Frank and held onto this plastic toy of a horse. The girl I was playing with had a PlayMobil toy of a little girl. I wanted to end the long drawn battle and so decided to let Frank repent and turn good...
“Ok, I think I do not want to be naughty any more. Can you teach me how I can be good?” Frank asked Sarah.
“Well, you just have to learn to say ‘thank you’, ‘excuse me’ and ‘sorry’.
“I’m sorry I was not nice and took your friend the monkey from you. Can you help me to be good?”
“You are good. You already are!” Sarah exclaimed without hesitation.
That response took me by surprise. It felt really good to be Frank at that moment. To be accepted unconditionally and positively. And to be uplifted by a four year old girl’s words.
